What more can I say =) Love Char, JY and YZ!

Anyway, thank you bubbles for the call, a simple gesture of friendship. Im glad to have known many great friends, and you are one of them. Was feeling down and out, but you were there. And GOD promises great things to come. He will lift my spirit out of the darkness, and bring light.

Jokes to lighten up a dreary school week

(1) Prospective Employer to Applicant: "So why did you leave your previous job?"
Applicant: " The company relocated and they did not tell me where!"
(2) Wife: "Sir, I would like to call on my husband who left me and brought all our five kids with him."
Radio Host: "Ok, go ahead!" Wife: "Sweetheart, please return back all the kids, actually only one of them is yours."
(3) Hello! I'm here again. My mind is all muddled up. I just want to ask something. I know
that you will be able to help me out. Is BIRDS FLU the past tense of BIRDS FLY?

When you were going down the bus, everybody were throwing dagger looks at you, and you suddenly realized . . . . that you have your MP3 player on your ears !

(5) John: it's my wife's birthday
Peter: what's your gift to her?

Peter: what did she said?
J: anything, as long a there is a DIAMOND.
P: what did you gave her?
J: playing cards
(6) Teacher: We are descendants of Adam and Eve!
Student: That's not true! My dad says we are descendants of an Ape!

Teacher: We are not talking about your FAMILY!

CAC (1st day)

3J, we totally rock! class adventure camp would have been a bore without everyone of you. anyway we must remember the 3 goals that we set for the camp, and try to achieve it:

1) abolish gender divide

2) interpersonal responsibilities

3) class bonding

anyway here's the brief outline of what we did during CAC:

In the morning

had some sort of briefing about the camp in school, set goals for our class to achieve. we were then divided into 3 groups. i was in the feed-me group, which had to plan our dinner and breakfast during camp. we had to learn to use the gas stove and budget for our meals with $66 bucks.

we then set out to changi village, where we ate our lunch before boarding a boat to ubin.

In the afternoon

trek, trek and more trekking. when we first arrived, everyone spammed mosquito repellent and sunblock (for the girls only). we were then divided into 2 large groups, so that each faciliator could take 1 group. each group had to have at least a few people who were previously in the lead-me group, so that they could guide us to the checkpoints. first time i see jeremy so enthus about getting to the checkpoint that he ran aboput 100m to it. (must say he is good at map reading). ok, so the last place we ended up was chek jawa, which had fantastic scenery. the sea breeze was really cooling on our faces although the sun was beating down on us. many pictures were taken there. also, fortunately for us, some girls brought food, so we ended up snacking there as well.

From there, the feed-me group split up to trek back to a provision shop to purchase food for our dinner and breakfast the next day. thanks to our good budgetting skills, we used up exactly $66 bucks. here is a list of what we bought:

- maggi mee

- bread

- jam

- sardines

- canned fruit

- baked beans

- duck with preserved veg

- milo

and 12 1.5 litre bottles of clean water.

Yay, we had a van to fetch us to the campsite, otherwise all of us would have died carrying all that to the campsite.

In the evening

Managed to wash my hair and cleaned up before sunset and the water ran out. Helped in the cooking of maggi mee and fed the rest of my class before the feed-me group ate. chris-tin also helped to heat up the duck so that it was more palatable. =) then a group of us girls set down at a bench to talk, and chris-tin ended up helping to french-braid our hair.

Night walk

was super scary. the girls were allowed to walk in pairs. but chris-tin and i kinda freaked out, so we switched on the torch halfway thru the walk. and some of our class guys decided to stand around the trees to scare the girls. but i felt it was a good experience walking in smaller groups cos, for OBS, our entire group walked together. Getting back to the campsite, we laid a tarp on the ground, and everyone gathered to tell ghost stories, but i phased out, and ended up falling asleep. so, a few girls proceeded to the tent to sleep. Probably slept for 5 hours but kept waking up, cos the ground was rocky and hard.

Been very busy that I have distant away from You, Lord. Please draw me back into your loving hands, and keep me there as close as possible. I know I cant lead a life without You. But every night, I know deep in my heart that I have turned my eyes away from You for most of the day, just concentrating on my own personal life. The only quiet moment is when I am lying on my bed, reflecting on the day, that I realise that I havent relied on You, but on my own strength to get through that day. Maybe that's why i get tired easily. Help me to pray just to be in Your presence. I need to get back into focus, with You in the centre of my life. Life isnt just the way it is.

Class outing!

In the end, i decided to go for class outing after all, even though i went out for 3 consecutive days. And I made a good choice =). It was ultra-fun. Bowling, pool and just chatting and laughing! This time, 12 ppl turned up, but the girls were outnumbered by the no of guys. Guess most of our class girls are a hardworking bunch lol (not me man). I havent bowled for ages, probably 2 years already. Haha, but slow and steady wins the race man. The balls that i rolled ended up straight down the middle, but took its time to reach the pins. Managed to have a max pinfall of 7 for each round, but kept switching shoes with Iris so that we could take turns, cos max 10 ppl for 2 lanes la. Oh yea, then spent 2 hours learning how to pool. Have never pooled in my life, first time trying. Only managed to get the hang of it like last 30 mins. But i guess it was a super fun class outing =). See our happy faces below:

Love as He loved, Give as He gave

My Father loved us before we first loved Him.
He forgave us by dying on the cross for our sins.
Christ taught us the power of LOVE and of FORGIVENESS.

It's not easy to forgive and forget; to live and let live.
But i shall leave it all behind me.
I forgive easily, but i do not necessarily forget.

Stop testing my patience, and stretching me to the limits.
For even the strongest of ties can break.
And wounds can heal, but scars remain.

Oh help me God to forgive and to love the people you created like You did.

A Timely Word

Opened the 40 day booklet to 16th July
And the heading read, "Honour your parents'
How timely.
Was just pouting and sulking over a decision made.
But His word made up my mind.
Yes. I shall respect authority.
After all, all decisions made are for my own good.
Shall do what i have to do...
I'm glad You taught me a lesson.
You really woke me up.

100% human responsibility, yet 100% divine activity.
I realise I have not turned my eyes to You these few days.
I realise I have relied on myself for comfort and not You.
I realise that I need You more and more in my life.
I realise that Your grace is always sufficient.
I realise that I have to remind myself that I live for You alone.
I realise I am not perfect, only You are.
I realise I need to surrender and let Your spirit fill me.
I realise that life is worth living with You.
Let me realise more of my potential when You are in me.
Open the eyes of my heart, Lord.

What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.

Anyway, a side note to a sis, who touched my heart when God spoke through her to me. I thank God for a friend who has been always there for me (u know who you are!)

Left with the used-to-bes

I really really miss floorball. I miss the team players. I miss Coach Jill. I miss playing and practising together as a team. As I entered the indoor sports hall yesterday after walking there with some seniors, I felt a sense of lost. What was I doing there? It felt like yesterday when I was training with you'll (maybe it was). Smiling faces smiled at me to welcome me, but I somehow felt as if I din belong in the sea of black and white. The wanting in me to be one of those out of the courts and not in the crowd watching keeps nagging at the back of my mind. I know that if its not meant to be, then i should live and let live, but I seem to be always left with the used-to-bes. Oh wells, life goes on anyway. I wish the team all the best. Floorball will still be a passion burning inside of me, and I hope i can pass this passion on. Even though I may not be playing, I will be there physically to give your moral support. Come on Raffles Floorball, you'll can do it! =)

Food Day

Went out with char and yz, sec 2 pals, yet we're so very close, and I'm really glad that these friendships have blossomed and not died down. Met at orchard and ended up eating at crystal jade as usual (haha we are always eating there lor). Then walked all around orchard looking window-shopping and waiting for the food to digest. However...we couldnt resist the smell of FAMOUS AMOS wafting from the stall at wisma, and we bought a second round of FOOD - a belgian brownie for me (indulgence man!). My frens ended up buying earrings, but I decided not to spend YET, cos i had $80 worth of vouchers to spend elsewhere. After all the browsing, we walked towards John Little/Centrepoint. Along the way, we came to SWENSONS, and YES, we stopped for FOOD again! Such pigs we are! Ate some ice-cream. The combi is really wierd and made me very full, but its good to be enjoying food. It was some yam ice-cream with 3 fried sesame balls filled with red bean paste. The bottom of the cup was also filled with red-beans and the top of the ice cream covered with blueberry toppings. HAHA. Man, i should upload the pics. Anyway, walked to john little to spend the vouchers, and ended up detouring to each john little and robinsons 3 times (so our ice cream really digested fast). Bought a bag in the end =) Yay, cant wait to go out with you all again (this time with jy, im so happy she's coming back).

Thank God Its Friday

It's Friday today,
a load of my mind.
A lot of thing's been happening,
But He has been kind.

His burden is heavy,
my yoke is light.
For He took everything for me,
and made things right.

I have a lot to be grateful for,
He guided my path.
And i could not have asked for anything more
For He's My All in All.

Thank God its friday,
Im looking forward to church,
to worship and praise Him,
for His Love and for never ever leaving me in the lurch. =D

Faithful Father

Father, I can't explain this kind of love
This kind of grace
I know I still break Your heart
And yet You run to welcome me

This is my song of praise to You
For who You are and all that You do
From the moment my life began
You have been faithful

Father, I love the way You hold me close
And say my name
I know when my life is through
My heart will find its home in You

This is my song of praise to You
For who You are and all that You do
From the moment my life began
You have been faithful

Forever faithful

You say, God says verses

Took this off a friend's blog (who got it from an email) with his permission of course.
Thought it was meaningful and decided to share it.

God has a positive answer for everything.

You say: "It's impossible"God says: All things are possible(Luke 18:27)
You say: "I'm too tired"God says: I will give you rest(Matthew 11:28-30)
You say: "Nobody really loves me"God says: I love you(John 3:16 & John 3:34)
You say: "I can't go on"God says: My grace is sufficient(2 Corinthians 12:9 & Psalm 91:15)
You say: "I can't figure things out"God says: I will direct your steps(Proverbs 3:5- 6)
You say: "I can't do it"God says: You can do all things(Philippians 4:13)
You say: "I'm not able"God says: I am able(2 Corinthians 9:8)
You say: "It's not worth it"God says: It will be worth it(Roman 8:28 )
You say: "I can't forgive myself"God says: I Forgive you(1 John 1:9 & Romans 8:1)
You say: "I can't manage"God says: I will supply all your needs(Philippians 4:19)
You say: "I'm afraid"God says: I have not given you a spirit of fear(2 Timothy 1:7)
You say: "I'm always worried and frustrated"God says: Cast all your cares on Me(1 Peter 5:7)
You say: "I'm not smart enough"God says: I give you wisdom(1 Corinthians 1:30)
You say: "I feel all alone"God says: I will never leave you nor forsake you(Hebrews 13:5)

Share this. YOU NEVER KNOW WHO MAY BE IN NEED!

Light in the darkness

One set of footprints in the sand.
That's when I knew He was there,
and He carried me.

A miracle today.
A sign of His presence in my life.
I am grateful!

This is It!

It's the last lap. As my friend so aptly put it, let's sprint all the way, and not slow down.
Can we do this? Yes, we can! =)
